Introduction

Main Description

Throughout this site you have a navigation tree to the left hand side allowing you to skip to certain sections within the site. If you select the plus sign (+) next to a section it will expand and open the correlating information about the main section.

The main sections within this site are described below.

·         Introduction - This section gives a brief overview of how the processes are structured, and how this site should be used to assist you in your everyday tasks.

·         OMES IS Operating Standards - This section catalogs OMES IS' operating standards, which are broken down into numbered disciplines. The Table of Contents provides a listing of all OMES IS Standards, broken down into their respective disciplines.

·         Roles - This section lists the roles that are involved in each of the different categories. A person may have one or more roles. Each role is assigned to specific tasks and certain deliverables that they are responsible for producing.

·         Disciplines - Disciplines are areas of work. There are sub-disciplines under many of the main sections. Each discipline gives a brief description of the type of work that is completed, as well as the tasks that it encompasses. Initially, the disciplines are structured to follow the OMES IS organizational chart and then lower levels identify the ITIL areas of knowledge and their respective disciplines.

·         Work Products - This section lists the products that are being produced as a result of a process/task. The work products are organized by discipline. There are three types of work products:

    • Artifact - Typically an actual document deliverable.
    • Deliverable - A collection of artifacts that make a complete deliverable. For example, the High-Level Plan consists of the Business Case Artifact, Milestone Plan Artifact, and CBA Artifact.
    • Outcome - These are typically not actual documentation, but rather other results that come out of a task.

·         Lifecycle - This section details the different types of initiatives that are done within OMES IS. Each initiative type has a work breakdown structure that details the phases, activities and tasks associated with each one. It pulls together the tasks, work products and roles to create a structure and sequencing events.
